Design Source & Materials

It is very important for an interior designer to have a good understanding of the materials and finishes available and being used in interiors. This subject helps the students to learn about the properties and usage of various materials available in the market today. Along with this students also learn about building systems such as sanitary and plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems etc.

Art and Architecture History – 1

This subject aims to inculcate an awareness and appreciation among the students of the evolution of interior design and furniture, their growth and development through the ages. This would be a theory-based course and would focus on the various components that students would study and apply in their creative efforts.

Fundamentals Of Interior Graphics

This subject forms the foundation of an Interior Designer’s work as it helps the designer to come up with and communicate original ideas. The subject includes basics of technical drafting, perspective drawings and presentation of work using various drafting tools.

Interior Design Studio – 1

This subject exposes the students to the basics of design and the fundamentals of design theory. Students will learn to understand and appreciate design by exploring and applying the various elements and principles of design including color and color theory. The study of human factors like ergonomics and anthropometry will be an integral part of the course so that students will be able to understand the relation between the natural and the built environment.  Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it in form of working and presentation drawings using techniques such as space planning, defining finishes and materials for a space.

English: Prose and Usage

English Prose and Usage is decorated to help students gain command over the language. It is loaded with useful everyday English language, that will not just boost your English grammar skills but will also help develop and improve your English fluency.

Art and Architecture History – 2

Interior Service System

Students will learn in detail about building systems such as sanitary and plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems, firefighting and security services etc.

Interior Design Studio

The study anthropometry for commercial projects will be a part of the course. Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it in form of working and presentation drawings using techniques such as space planning, defining finishes and materials for a commercial space.

Interior Construction

In this subject the students will learn the importance of various types of constructional details as applicable to interior spaces. The study of the various parts of a building and their role in the overall structure along with furniture details will form the basis of this course.

English Composition & Business Correspondence

Students will learn how to write neutral and inquiry letters, as well as positive and negative letters.  Effective Business Writing; Word Usage; Parts of a Business Letter; Letter and Punctuation Styles; Planning and Organizing a Letter; Creating Letters with Word Templates etc.

Professional Practice

From establishing a practice to managing a project, it is important to know all aspects of the business like business ethics, business laws etc., knowing this principle are very essential.

Estimating and Budgeting

It is very important for an interior designer to have an understanding of how to run a business and marketing his/her skills. In this subject the students will also learn how to prepare estimates and write specifications for a design project.

Restaurant & Bar Design

The study of anthropometry for Restaurant & Bar projects will be a part of the course. Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it in form of working and presentation drawings using techniques such as space planning, defining finishes and materials for a Restaurant & Bar. Students will also get to learn how to design different types of restaurants.

Interior Design Studio – 3

Here the students will learn how to design an office. They will study the requirements of an advertising office, color schemes, space planning, procedure of design etc.

Retail Design

The study of anthropometry for Retail projects will be a part of the course. Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it in form of working and presentation drawings using techniques such as space planning, defining finishes and materials for a Retail project. Students will also get to learn how to design different types of Retail stores along with Exterior Design of a Retail Outlet.
